• What RIBA work stages do you provide services for?

  Typically 1 – 6. We offer services across all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work, from initial concept and feasibility (Stage 0–1), through design development and planning (Stage 2–3), to technical design, construction, and completion (Stage 4–6). Whether you require a full-service architectural package or support at a specific stage, we can tailor our involvement to suit your project needs.

• How do you approach feasibility and site capacity studies?

  We assess each site’s planning context, constraints, and opportunities to understand what can realistically be achieved. This includes reviewing local and national planning policies, access, neighbouring impact, and physical limitations. We then explore massing and layout options to test capacity and optimise development potential. The result is a clear, early-stage appraisal that supports informed decisions, reduces risk, and provides a strong foundation for design development.

• What is your experience with planning policy and local authorities?

  We have extensive experience working within England’s planning policies and engaging with local authorities. We regularly undertake pre-application discussions and planning submissions, responding effectively to feedback to improve outcomes while maintaining design quality and increasing the likelihood of approval.

• How do you coordinate technical design and consultant input?

  We manage the coordination of technical design and third party consultant/s input throughout the project to ensure all information is fully integrated and aligned. This typically includes structural engineers, energy assessors and other specialists as required. We take responsibility for reviewing and coordinating their input with our architectural design, helping to resolve clashes early, maintain design intent, and ensure the information is suitable for construction. This joined-up approach helps reduce risk, improve efficiency on site, and support a smoother delivery process.

• What level of technical information do you produce for construction?

  We produce coordinated technical drawings and specifications appropriate to the project, supporting pricing, approvals, and construction. This typically includes substructure plan, floor plans, drainage layouts, sections, elevations, electrical/services layout, construction details and a technical specification document. Culminating in a fully coordinated and buildable package that accurately delivers the design intent on site.

• Are you a chartered practice with appropriate professional cover?

  Yes, we are a professionally qualified chartered practice with relevant industry experience and professional indemnity insurance in place for the services we provide. We operate to recognised professional standards (set highly by Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists), ensuring robust governance, technical competence, and accountability throughout all project stages. This gives clients added confidence that work is properly coordinated, professionally managed, and supported by appropriate safeguards from concept through to completion.
