Majority of residential planning applications tend to fall under the category of ‘Householder’. Decisions on these types of work usually take between 8 – 10 weeks from submission.
Timing does vary between projects, and each project is different. But Ellis+Company are deeply familiar with local council and planning processes. Working with the right consultant is the key to a well planned application – saving you time and unnecessary stress.
Once the application is granted, local authorities can impose ‘conditions’ on their decision for planning approval.
- Conditions can be imposed on any stage of work
- Read carefully and understand how they affect the proposed work
- Start with any pre-commencement conditions
- Conditions that require additional information must be discharged within requirement.
- You can appeal or apply for removal / alteration of a condition you don’t agree with.
If you haven’t received a decision on your application by the 16th week since submission, you may be eligible for total or partial application fee refund
